Philippe Legrain is the author of Immigrants: Your Country Needs Them (2007) and Open World: The Truth about Globalisation (2002). He is a contributing editor to Prospect magazine and a freelance writer for a variety of publications such as the Financial Times, The Guardian, The New Republic and Foreign Policy. He blogs at www.philippelegrain.com. In 1999, he was highly commended as Young Financial Journalist of the Year in the Harold Wincott Press Awards. He is also a commentator for BBC TV and radio on globalisation and trade. He was previously trade and economics correspondent for The Economist and special adviser to World Trade Organisation director-general Mike Moore. He has a first-class honours degree in economics and masters in politics of the world economy, both from the London School of Economics and has recently been appointed a Visiting Fellow at the London Schoolof Economics' European Institute. Philippe is thirty-three and lives in London.
